Nike Pegasus ‘89

Throwing around the term “running renaissance” quite liberally is no joke from the Nike camp as they release another new release for the running fans. The smooth lines of the Pegasus are seen replicated close to 20 years since its original release. These two colors should kick off another strong retro running model from Nike. Available at the start of 2009.

adidas AZX HUF ZX 500

As the ‘H’ in this collaborative project, San Franciso’s HUF pay tribute to their city’s railroad history with a canvas upper that homages the hickory striped uniform of the railway worker. Far from workmanlike, this intelligent conceptual approach goes the distance in terms of detail, from the brass eyelets, branded ghilly lacing system and tipped laces, to the all-over lettering on the tongue, completed by a gum outsole. A bold move that pays dividends, the shoe is packaged with a matching striped drawstring bag embellished by six brass badges, making for another classic from a store that truly overstands the collaborative shoe process.

Nike Air Max 90 Infrared 2008 Retro

Quite possibly the most desirable retro colorway of all time is coming back once again in 2008. Although the number of previous Air Max 90 Infrared retros have been numerous, no doubt this re-release will allow many to get their hands on this prized sneaker which has seen the re-sale value jump increasingly fast as stocks dry up. With retro models usually offering some distinction, no word on how these 2008 models are unlike past Infrareds. Look for a late July release at select Nike retailers including Sneakology.

The Cool Kids: That’s Stupid (The Mixtape)

Considering the Cool Kids’ cult following on the internet and their omnipresence on various blogs, it is not surprising that Mikey Rocks and Chuck Inglish initially formed from a chance meeting when Mikey stumbled upon Chucks electro tinged old school tracks on the net. The Cool Kids’ swagger heavy persona, golden era 808 kicks, EPMD meets Beastie Boys meet Lupe Fiasco style and vintage gear have solidified their reputation as a blogosphere favorite and new school Hip Hop stand out. The duos’ net savvy abilities and relentless work ethic has allowed them to exploit and use the web to release videos, freestyles and brand new tracks at dizzying speed. The crew recently dropped The Bake Sale EP to critical acclaim and exposure that reaches outside of the internet. Not content to rest on their laurels, the Kids drop even more material with “That’s Stupid (the mix tape)”. There are six new tracks on the release that follow the same winning formula of braggadocios rhymes and trunk rattling beats.
